This November, SHAVE

When November comes, a popular fad among the male youth which is NO SHAVE NOVERMBER also arrives. Guys post photographs of themselves with such thick beard and stupid captions like “I’m the MAN.” “Your guy is a boy without beard” and other bullshit.
Now, let me break it down for you.
Having a beard does NOT make you a MAN. Having good values does.
Also here’s a fun fact – The real idea behind this campaign was to donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention not upload selfies of your scratchy beard on every social account possible.
Stop following a trend blindly without doing any kind of research regarding it. Keep yourself aware, don’t be a sheep in the flock.
The most sickening thing regarding it is the memes. Stop promoting these stupid memes by tagging other people.

And also ladies, can we have a little talk please?

If you don’t want other people to judge you by your looks then stop judging people based on their looks. Beard or no beard, he’s still a person with same values and nature. If it looks good -cool but if it doesn’t – SHAVE.

Things I hate about Bollywood Movies

Movies are supposed to bring back your faith on love, humanity and hope. They are made to make you laugh and inspire you. But there are some Bollywood directors who need to double check their work because they are setting some serious negative examples through Bollywood movies.

1.    No Consent – Basically a guy stalking a girl even when she states that she is “not interested in him”. Related to this was news of an Indian guy in Australia harassing women and blaming Bollywood for it. After hearing it, I had just laughed it off. But after watching AIB’s video regarding the same, I started to see a little hint of no consent in every movie or song. Watch “Haseena Maan Jayegi” song for example. (To watch the article, video and song, click on the links).

2.    Eye Candy – It means objectifying women and men. Yep, that’s right! Even men are objectified as eye candy. It is Bollywood people; it means acting in movies not flaunting 6-8 pack abs. Do not even get me started on item songs that exist for the sole purpose of getting views from guys who just want to see girls dancing on some stupid, shady lyrics. “Log Kehte Hain Mujhe Main to Hoon Namkeen Butter”. Those are actual song lyrics. Need I say more?

3.    Tomboy = Not Attractive – My love for “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” was to such extent that even when I was not big enough to speak I used to say “Ku Ku Ota Hai”. But, after growing up, I realized that it stated such a bad example that girls who do not behave a certain way are not seen as beautiful. If you can transform yourself into a pink loving, teddy hugging and makeup doing girl, then you are the one. Else, God bless you. Same happened in Main Hoon Na.

4.    Unrealistic Action Scenes – Actor and villain beating each other to death, making each other fly in the air with just a punchHero beating all sidekicks altogether. Then comes a corny dialogue and actress seen as this “abla naari” who is captured by the villain and it’s the sole job of the hero to save her. Police? Who is that?

5.    Set Standards of Beauty – Ever seen a Bollywood movie starring a fat protagonist and nothing being mentioned about it? Many actors and actresses go through skin lightening treatments to fit the beauty standards and those who don’t have to face racist and lewd comments. Trailer of movie “Unindian” starring Brett Lee and Tannishtha Chatterjee on YouTube has no comments regarding acting or story but has all comments discussing over actress’s melanin induced skin color.

6.    Masala over Quality – Commercial movies like Dhoom 3, Ek tha Tiger and Houseful are very well known by people, but very few people are aware of gems like Hotel SalvationNil Battay Sanatta and Shaitan. It’s because such movies don’t have huge casting and people see movies for actors not stories. Even if it means over acting.

A reunion to remember

With the promise of being friends forever they parted.
40 years later the will to meet each other started.
All dressed up for the reunion, the tears rolled down.
As the health did not cooperate with the mind.
Then they remembered the party was uptown.
With the moan, they started to breakdown.
Then a flashback appeared.
The laughs, the pranks and the sensations.
One puts on a brave face and break fear.
From the wheelchair he gets up and calls the dear.
Says doesn't matter the disability, the friends will never out wear.
Get up o get up dear.
The one with low eyesight, calls for the car.
Says doesn't matter if I have to go far.
One by one all leave the fright and go with sparkle in their eyes.
40 years later, again under one roof.
The faces have changed but not the emotions.
Everybody remembers the good old days and promises that never failed.
The clown of the class again makes a joke.
The Romeo and Juliet of the class are still poked.
With funny thing in mind, they make a pact again.
This time to not meet but to get buried together as a team.

6 types of girls found in every college.

·       Baby talker – This is probably the girl who hasn’t hit puberty yet. Even after getting into college she gets mad at her friends because they didn’t hug her while saying goodbye until next day. Whenever you meet her you will get a hug and a dose of “How is my baby, did you eat your food?” Words like baby, bae, honey and sweetie are her most common used words. Though she is liked by all yet comes across as a little bit annoying at times. But hey, you know whenever you’re sad her warm hugs are all that’s gonna make you feel alright.

·       I hate it all – She’s the one who is frustrated about her life. She thinks her college sucks and everyone around her is just fake and nonsense. She likes to be alone most of the time and complains about how life is a bitch and she just hates it all. But you know you can always count on her for some real advice.

·       High and numb – I kid you not when I say that I happen to have classmates like these. They don’t really know what’s happening around them nor do they give a fuck about it. They have the capacity to take daily’s bullshit and turn it into smoke although it kills. But the best thing that you like about them is that they are not the ones who judge you nor do they really care about what you have done. If they want talk you, they will talk to you.

·       Pout lover – They just love themselves way too much that they like to take photographs on almost daily basis with their so called “bffs” and can be found on every social media platform from Instagram to snapchat with at least of 500+ posts with god knows how many different kinds of filters. There hashtags are same all the time “my babies, my baes, my cuties and my life”. The duck face and pout is something that they can do in their sleep now (well practice peeps, well practice). For all I know is that if you need a photograph for fun, always head to them because they don’t care as long as your camera quality is good.

·       Ms. know it all – The as usual geeky and studious girl with answers to everything. You know you pray to god that in exams she sits near you so that you can pass. She is the kind of girl who is very busy during exams not studying but answering phone calls of people who are studying. She has probably done her revision for the 5th time by the time you’re thinking to open your book. Your last hope in passing is her and she knows it.

·       The cool bitch – You just hate her, you can’t stand her and the worst part is you don’t even know why? Oh yeah, let me give you a reason because she’s sassy, popular with boys and has good clothing sense. Maybe you’re jealous of her and don’t want to admit it or maybe you think she’s a fake and even then you’re jealous and don’t want to admit it. When you tell others that you can’t even stand that girl and they ask for a reason, you’re numb because even you don’t know it.

Graduation Blues!

Dear freshers, this one’s for you.

First of all, congratulations! You made it. You made through the pressure of completing assignments, attending 9 am lecture, keeping sane, balancing social life and doing an internship. Just gave you nostalgia, yes?

But, then came the graduation day, when you saw 80% of your classmates for the last time. With hope in your heart and charisma to take over the world, you thought that now it gets better. The life is going to be sorted, after all you have graduated.

Then came a notification, a friend got into IIM. You were happy, happy that he made it but is it really? A little part of you wished, wished you were him. Scrolling through the feed, you found out someone from your class made it to Google when all you were thinking was to have some noodles.

Here starts the panic. The dilemma about what to do? Choose masters or do a job? Suddenly, it occurs that nobody hires freshers. You doubt whether you chose the correct field. “Is this stream really me or was I born to do something different?”

Friend by friend everybody gets where they wanted while you stand there choking on your life decisions, wishing you did things differently but feel the time has gone. Stuck at home, anxiety falls all over. Do what will make parents happy? Or listen to that little confused heart? Feeling scared about what is going to come and destroying present by over thinking becomes a pattern.

But I just want to let you know, that you are not alone. Every person goes through the same cycle, yearning for a miracle. That little voice in your head, will guide you through the dark for it has seen your fears and knows what you desire.

Maybe it’s not your time yet, but believe that time does change. Family, neighbors will speak for a while, but what you create will later define your life. Just keep on going and do your bit cuz without that even God can’t do shit.
